| Please write again soon. Though my own life is filled with activity, letters encourage momentary escape into others' lives and I come back to my own with greater contentment. -- Elizabeth Forsythe Hailey, A Woman of Independent Means |

| Pen and paper have always been my best friends; as a young girl, I wrote poems, lists, letters, everything! And as an adult I kept a journal; I still do. In order to keep it enjoyable, though, I decided not to make a "rule" to write daily. Rather, I write when I have something I want to record. Before I began keeping the journal, I wrote letters. Endlessly. To friends, classmates, and especially boys whom I had crushes on. NO, of course, those never got sent! And since I’m so sentimental, I kept all the drafts... and you can imagine how much fun it is for me to look at them now! (Well, okay, sometimes fun tinged with horror.) Often, my journal entries and letters merge and become essays. So in this section, I will be sharing some of my essays--small and random chunks of my thoughts and adventures--and hopefully you, dear reader, will get a smile out of it. |
