My mother had a great deal of trouble with me, but I think she enjoyed it.

Little Diane listens intently
while conducting an interview
I was born a few days before Albert Einstein died… you may draw your own conclusions from this.

All my life, I’ve been fascinated by the stories of people’s lives. Young or old, male or female, famous or
not, I want to sit down and hear, or read, their story. And don’t laugh, but here’s how I’ve always read a
biography: first, I look at a few pages of the beginning. Then I peek at the photos, after which I flip to the
end to see how the beginning of the person’s end came about.

So perhaps it’s no accident that most of my writing work has been to assemble, through interviews and
research, the details of a person's life story, then craft these details into a compelling, readable account of
the subject’s life and experiences. Over the years, I have had the pleasure of interviewing hundreds of
people–among them entertainers, celebrities, politicians, corporate heads, and authors–and I am proud to
report that every one of them has been complimentary of the way I have handled their words.

By the way, writing was not my first career; I spent almost twenty years as a paralegal, specializing in
consumer, family and real estate matters–which means that all my life, I’ve made my living by interviewing
people–and I still love it!
